The kit contains three different lysis buffers in order to optimally cope with the diversity of plant starting materials. After lysis, a pre-filtration step is performed to filter out the remaining cell debris and contaminants from the lysate. The lysate is then mixed with the binding buffer, which allows the DNA to bind efficiently to the membrane of the centrifugation columns.
