Description

Dirt trap 3/4'' with 0,11 mm sieve is a mechanical pre-filter that protects valves and other downstream devices from damage or impaired function caused by entrained particles. It is intended for cold and heated drinking water, with a maximum medium temperature of 90 °C, a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar, a maximum permissible pressure loss of 6 bar and a Kv value of 70 l/min. The nominal diameter is 17 mm. The housing is made of PA66, seals are EPDM and the dirt screen is stainless steel with a mesh width of 0,11 mm. The filter insert can be changed without dismantling the complete dirt trap and without tools. For best results the unit should be installed with the filter insert preferably pointing vertically downward so that retained dirt does not remain in the housing during exchange. Requirements for mechanical filtration of drinking water are described in DIN EN 13443. This dirt trap from manufacturer Evoqua Water Technologies is supplied as one piece for water-treatment and laboratory utility lines where reliable particle retention is required ahead of sensitive fittings.

This article is part of Test sieves (wire mesh), in Test sieves & mills.

Questions about Strainer ¾‘‘, 10bar

What is this article?

Strainer ¾‘‘, 10bar is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Evoqua Water Technologies for laboratory use. It sits in Test sieves (wire mesh), inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.

A wire-mesh test sieve sorts particles through a woven opening of a stated nominal size. The frame diameter and the mesh are the specification. A sieve without a certificate is a screen, not a measurement.

A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
