Description

PULVERISETTE 11 knife mill is a multifunctional laboratory mill for fast, gentle grinding and homogenisation of moist, oily, fatty, soft, medium-hard and fibrous samples to industrial quality. It is well suited to food, agriculture and forestry, pharmacy and biology workflows, accepting a maximum feed size of 40 mm and sample volumes up to 1,300 ml, with a material-dependent final fineness below 300 µm. Running at 10,000 rpm, the compact unit from manufacturer Fritsch is supplied with a 1,4 l autoclavable grinding container in transparent, scratch-resistant polycarbonate, a standard silicone lid and a stainless-steel standard knife. A practical PP reducing lid cuts the chamber volume to 0,54 l for cleaner small-batch work, while optional stainless-steel 316L bowls and serrated knives extend application flexibility. Programmable, storable recipes and quiet operation support routine laboratory use. Overall dimensions are 32 x 43 x 48 cm and net weight is 17,6 kg. This version is specified for 100–120 V, 50–60 Hz mains supply and arrives ready for immediate deployment with the standard bowl, lid and knife.

This article is part of Mills, grinders & homogenisers, in Test sieves & mills.

Questions about PULVERISETTE 11 Knife Mill 100 - 120 V, 50 - 60 Hz

What is this article?

PULVERISETTE 11 Knife Mill 100 - 120 V, 50 - 60 Hz is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Fritsch for laboratory use. It sits in Mills, grinders & homogenisers, inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.

A mill, grinder or homogeniser reduces particle size or breaks a tissue before an extraction. The rotor and the sieve insert decide the result. A knife mill and a bead mill are different machines. The sample has to tolerate the heat the motor puts into it.

A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
