The PULVERISETTE 5 classic line planetary mill with 2 grinding bowl holders is intended for rapid batch fine grinding down to colloidal fineness of hard to soft materials, dry or in suspension. It is equally suited to mixing and thorough homogenisation of emulsions and pastes. Maximum sample quantity is 450 ml and maximum feed size is 10 mm depending on the material. Main disk speed is adjustable from 50 to 400 rpm. Comminution occurs primarily through high-energy impact of grinding balls and partly through friction between balls and bowl wall. Loss-free grinding, including of suspensions, is supported by a sealing ring in the grinding bowl, while quartz-accurate time control aids reproducible results. Grinding media in 8 different materials enable contamination-free processing, and simultaneous grinding is possible in up to 4 small or 2 large bowls. Programmable grinding and pause times, reverse operation, second-accurate short runs and an RS232 interface for process-parameter transfer support validated workflows; special gassing lids allow grinding under inert gas and mechanical alloying. The mill from manufacturer Fritsch is supplied as standard with 2 bowl holders and safe-lock clamping, without grinding bowls and balls, which must be ordered separately.
