Comme toutes les membranes \u003cb\u003eR\u003c\/b\u003eOTI\u003csup\u003e®\u003c\/sup\u003eNylon, elle présente une très haute résistance à la traction et est hautement résistante aux alcools, à l'acétone et à de nombreux autres solvants organiques. \u003cb\u003eR\u003c\/b\u003eOTI\u003csup\u003e®\u003c\/sup\u003eNylon 0.45 n'est pas chargée à un pH tampon de 6,5 et possède d'excellentes propriétés hydrophiles grâce aux groupes amino et carboxy en surface. La charge de la membrane (potentiel zêta) peut être ajustée par la valeur du pH du système tampon (charge membranaire positive à pH\u0026lt;6,5 ; charge membranaire négative à pH\u0026gt;6,5). Une stérilisation à la vapeur est possible. La liaison covalente de l'acide nucléique transféré est obtenue par réticulation (réticulation UV pendant 20 s à 260 nm).
