The reference side is a KERN EWJ precision balance that remains usable as a stand-alone instrument; internal automatic adjustment every 2 h helps maintain accuracy without location dependence. A standard draft shield encloses a weighing space of 134×128×80 mm, and a protective working hood is part of the delivery. Piece counting of bulk lots is performed on the KERN IFS platform scale (Kern), engineered to industrial standards for rough daily use. The ergonomic evaluation unit features a large keypad and high-contrast displays for weight, reference weight and total piece number, 100 master-data memories, manual reference optimisation, piece summing, and date\/time output.
