Description

Filling tube for fermentation vessel with an inner diameter of approximately 28 mm is a manual feeder / feeding tube designed for controlled substrate addition in laboratory fermentation setups. It is intended for substrates with a maximum particle size of 15–25 mm and offers an immersion length of about 340 mm, allowing material to be introduced well below the floating layer. Connections are provided via a GL 45 thread, and the tube is manufactured from Clean Save laboratory glass conforming to DIN ISO 3585. The component is matched to the MyFerm L14020001 fermentation vessel fitted with a GL 45 lid neck: the feeding tube is inserted through one of the 45 mm lid necks so that substrate can be delivered beneath the surface layer. When the fermenter is filled, this arrangement helps avoid gas loss during feeding. A gas-tight screw connection (Art. 886763290) is required as necessary accessory. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Landgraf HLL, this filling tube supports practical, low-loss manual feeding workflows in MyFerm-based fermentation work.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Manual Feader / Feeding Tube

What is this article?

Manual Feader / Feeding Tube is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Landgraf HLL for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
