Description

T-SP-nut is an individual replacement nut from the T-spindle set, required for fastening T-spindles to a viscometer. Only in combination with the T-SP-coupling can T-spindles be mounted securely on the instrument. The complete T-SP-SET, which includes both the nut and the coupling, is contained in the HELISTAND Set and in all ROTAVISC HELI Packages from manufacturer IKA. Used together with the motorised HELISTAND stand, T-spindles are particularly suited to viscosity measurements of non-flowing samples such as creams, pastes or gelatine. This single spare nut offers a convenient solution for laboratories needing to replace a missing or worn fastening component without purchasing a full accessory kit. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,041 kg, it ensures reliable spindle retention during testing. The nut contributes to stable mechanical connection throughout measurement cycles involving highly viscous, paste-like or gel-type materials that require controlled vertical movement of the spindle.

This article is part of Viscometers, in Density & viscosity measurement.

Questions about T-SP-nut, T spindle nut

What is this article?

T-SP-nut, T spindle nut is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Viscometers, inside Density & viscosity measurement, in Lab instruments.

A capillary viscometer times the flow of a liquid through a tube. A rotational viscometer twists a spindle in the liquid. Both need a stated temperature. Kinematic and dynamic viscosity are different numbers. The capillary size has to put the flow time in the range the method allows.

Density is mass divided by volume. A hydrometer floats at a depth that depends on the density of the liquid. A pycnometer is a vessel of known volume that is weighed full. Viscosity is the resistance to flow. A capillary viscometer times how long a volume takes to fall through a tube. Both measurements need a stated temperature, because liquids change density and viscosity as they warm. The units trace to the BIPM and to NIST.
