- De vlamdover, die ver in het vat reikt (ca. 150 mm lang), voorkomt het binnendringen van vonken en kan voor reiniging of vervanging worden losgeschroefd
- Bij geleidende vaten vindt aarding plaats via de schroefdraad (direct contact); voor andere vaten is een extra aardingsaansluiting voorzien
- Het klapdeksel vermindert de emissie van vluchtige, schadelijke dampen en moet handmatig worden gesloten
