Carbol-gentianaviolet solution, for microscopy, Density (D) 0,99 g/cm³, Flash point (flp) 58 °C, Boiling point (bp) >90 °C, UN-Nr. 1993
The solution is used for the first step of Gram staining. It can be applied like crystal violet solution acc. to Gram. Gentian violet and crystal violet are two different names for the same dye.
