Azure II is a mixture of equal parts of the basic coal tar dyes methylene blue and Azure B. These dyes are mainly used for staining of blood elements (e.g. in Giemsa staining solution, Art. No. T862). In watery solution they form special salts with the acid eosin, the eosinates.
