May-Gruenwald’s solution is a methanolic solution of eosin methylene blue. Due to the high concentration of methanol, the specimens are fixed at the same time (recommended residence time: 3 min).May-Grünwald solution is used for the differential staining of blood and bone marrow smears and for the staining of cytological preparations.
