Proteose peptone has been used for, e.g., the production of Diphteria toxin, Pneumococcus toxin and the toxins from Clostridium botulinum and Cl. perfringens, as well as for culture of Neisseria, Haemophilus, Salmonella, Corynebacterium and Staphylococcus.
