HABITAT cell, Control unit package for bioreactor, cell culture

HABITAT cell control unit package is a compact bioreactor control tower designed for cell culture applications, providing precise monitoring and control of bioprocess parameters. The unit combines a full set of connection points for gas supply, liquid addition, multiparameter sensors and temperature regulation with an intuitive 10,4-inch tablet interface. Operators can run batch, fed-batch or perfusion/continuous modes and activate chaotic mixing for effective, homogeneous agitation when needed. Four integrated mass flow controllers supply N2, O2, air and CO2 at individually adjustable rates from 0,01 to 2 L/min, with cascade control holding setpoints automatically. Four bi-directional Watson-Marlow pumps deliver acids, bases, antifoam and feed solutions with high accuracy for mammalian media management. PID temperature control supports single- and double-walled glass vessels; with an IKA thermostat on double-walled vessels the range is 5–80 °C. Compact dimensions are 223 × 402 × 450 mm (W × D × H). Connectivity covers USB, PC, RS232, Ethernet, external signal input, external pump, single-use unit and thermostat. From manufacturer IKA, the control tower becomes a functional system only together with a separately available vessel package.
