Description

OTAL® disposable hand pump with PE tube Ø 12 mm is a single-use container pump whose HDPE delivery tube is the sole wetted part and can be exchanged quickly after each use. This design eliminates cross-contamination risk and the need for time-consuming cleaning when switching media or vessels. The one-piece delivery tube is cut to container height with the supplied cutter for maximum flexibility and complete residual emptying; the outlet end can also be shortened if required. A PVC universal stopper seals airtight containers with opening diameters of 30–70 mm without any thread connection. Suitable for thin to low-viscosity liquids up to 500 mPas such as acids, alkalis, detergents and food-grade fluids, the pump empties vessels up to approximately 90 cm high and is ideal for 10–60 litre containers. Compact and space-saving, this OTAL® unit from manufacturer Bürkle is the practical choice wherever purity is critical or cleaning is impractical, delivering reliable air-overpressure transfer in laboratory, industrial and production environments.

This article is part of Drum, barrel & transfer pumps, in Pumps, vacuum & evaporation.

Questions about OTAL® disposable hand pump, delivery tubes PE

What is this article?

OTAL® disposable hand pump, delivery tubes PE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Drum, barrel & transfer pumps, inside Pumps, vacuum & evaporation, in Lab instruments.

A drum or barrel pump transfers tens of litres from a can that is too heavy to pour. Hand and electric drives differ. The tube material, stainless steel or plastic, has to survive the liquid. It is a transfer tool, not a metering pipette.

A vacuum pump lowers the pressure above a liquid so it boils at a lower temperature. That is the point of a rotary evaporator: solvent leaves a sample without cooking it. A diaphragm pump or a rotary-vane pump is chosen by the vacuum it reaches and by whether solvent vapour will destroy it. A peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing a tube, so the liquid touches only the tube. A barrel pump transfers a larger volume from a drum. The glassware on the evaporator is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Solvent identity is on PubChem.
