Description

AHN myLab® MC-01 microcentrifuge is a compact benchtop instrument for separation of particles from suspensions or macromolecules from solutions. It delivers a maximum speed of 6000 min-1 (2000 × g) with speed accuracy of ±100 min-1. The closed-angle rotor accommodates 8 × 1,5 mL or 8 × 2,0 mL microcentrifuge tubes; adapters for 0,2 mL and 0,5 mL vessels are included. Its unique closed rotor design improves airflow through low friction, protects temperature-sensitive samples by limiting heat build-up, and supports ultra-quiet, vibration-free running. An electronic brake stops the unit immediately if imbalance is detected. Robust construction with a solid hinge and latch design, digital display and lid-activated quick-spin mode enable fast, convenient operation. Supplied by manufacturer AHN Biotechnologie, the unit measures 162 × 157 × 115 mm, weighs 1,4 kg net and consumes only 10 W, making it suitable for fume hoods and cold rooms. Noise level stays below 55 dB. Scope of delivery comprises the centrifuge, closed 1,5/2,0 mL angle rotor, PCR-strip rotor, Allen key, eight adapters each for 0,2 mL and 0,5 mL vessels, external power adapter, operating manual, warranty card and declaration of conformity.

Questions about AHN myLab® MC-01 Microcentrifuge, 6000 min-1, 1 pc

What is this article?

AHN myLab® MC-01 Microcentrifuge, 6000 min-1, 1 pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes AHN Biotechnologie for laboratory use. It sits in Microcentrifuges & mini centrifuges, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

A microcentrifuge spins 0.2 mL to 2 mL tubes at high force. A mini centrifuge is the small quick-spin for bringing a droplet down from a lid. They are not interchangeable with a 50 mL rotor. The lid lock is part of the safety of the instrument.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
