Description

BOLA blade stirrer shafts consist of a PTFE-coated stainless steel shaft with a straight stirring blade made entirely of PTFE. This variant is 450 mm long, with a shaft diameter of 8 mm and a clamping diameter of 6,5 mm. Blade dimensions according to the manufacturer drawing are 90 mm, 20 mm and 5 mm (A–B–C). Only PTFE contacts the medium, which provides universal chemical resistance for many laboratory reagents and solvents. The coated stainless steel core supplies the rigidity required for reliable overhead stirring while the full-PTFE blade protects the process fluid from metal contact. Supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,17 kg, the shaft is intended for use with compatible laboratory stirrer drives and vessels. Blade stirrer shafts from manufacturer Bohlender in the BOLA range are well suited to general mixing, dissolving and suspension work where a simple flat-blade geometry is preferred. The 450 mm length supports immersion in standard lab containers, and the 8 mm shaft diameter matches common chuck and coupling sizes. Material choice focuses on chemical inertness at all wetted surfaces without compromising mechanical performance of the drive shaft.

What is this article?

BOLA Stirrer Shafts with Blade, L 450 mm Ø 8 mm aØ 90x20 mm PTFE-coated STAINLES is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
