An additive in the polymer makes the blue plastic visible to metal detectors and X-ray systems, so conventional foreign-body inspection lines can reject them even though they are plastic. Each pair is individually packed and sterilised, produced in a cleanroom (class 7) and designed for one-time use to help avoid cross-contamination. Overall length is 130 mm.
