Description

DURAN® Engler flask with NS 19/26 socket and side outlet is a specialised distillation flask for petrochemical work and controlled heating of liquids to ASTM requirements. The bulbous 125 ml vessel carries a fixed side arm on the neck that channels vapour into a condenser, where it condenses as distillate. Thermometers are introduced through the neck, and the integrated ground joint creates a tight seal for the apparatus. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3 by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the flask features a permanently fired white print that remains clearly legible. The precision NS 19/26 socket ensures a standardised, leak-tight connection to complementary glassware. Engler flasks of this design complement multi-neck flasks in distillation trains, combining the universal utility of laboratory flasks with a dedicated side outlet for efficient vapour transfer. Robust construction supports repeated thermal cycles while preserving dimensional stability needed for accurate distillation in analytical and industrial laboratories. Suitable for heating and distillation tasks where a defined side-arm geometry is required.

Questions about DURAN® Engler Flask standard ground joint 19/26 an side outlet, ASTM

What is this article?

DURAN® Engler Flask standard ground joint 19/26 an side outlet, ASTM is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
