Description

DURAN® flat flange reaction vessel DN 60, 250 mL, flange with groove is a large-capacity reaction vessel intended as an alternative to round-bottom flasks for preparative laboratory work. Made of borosilicate glass 3.3, the assembly comprises a lower section and a lid held together by a clamping ring. A gasket or ground-joint grease prevents jamming of the ground surfaces. Multiple standard ground joints in the lid allow connection of dropping funnels, stirrer shafts and further components. The flange is provided with a groove into which an O-ring can be inserted to achieve a firm seal. Owing to its geometry and solid wall thickness the vessel is pressure- and vacuum-resistant and may be used up to the technically maximum possible vacuum when safety guidelines are followed. At this volume the form remains fully cylindrical. Durable white printing is fired onto the glass. Suitable for general reactions, distillations, evaporations and drying processes involving solid or viscous materials, this vessel from Duran/DWK Life Sciences is designed for chemically and thermally demanding operations under pressure or vacuum.

Questions about DURAN® Flat Flange Reaction Vessel, flange with groove

What is this article?

DURAN® Flat Flange Reaction Vessel, flange with groove is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Microcentrifuge & reaction tubes, inside Microplates, PCR & reaction tubes, in Lab consumables.

A microcentrifuge tube, the familiar 1.5 mL or 2 mL flip-cap tube, holds a small reaction or a spin-down. The cap style, the centrifugal-force rating and whether the tube is low-binding are the specification. A PCR tube is thinner and is a different article.

A microplate is an array of wells so the same step can be done many times. A deep-well plate holds more volume. A PCR plate or a strip of tubes is thin-walled so the temperature of a cycler reaches the liquid quickly. A seal keeps the well from evaporating. The well number, the working volume and whether the plate is skirted for a robot are the choices. Diagnostic test systems are listed under ISO in vitro diagnostic systems. Methods are on PubMed.
