DURAN® spherical joint socket, unground and polished, S 13/5, is a borosilicate glass 3.3 component that seals solely via a sealing ring rather than a ground surface. Two sealing-ring options are available: FEP-coated silicone rings or VITON rings. The nominal size denotes the nominal diameter of the spherical joint and, where applicable, the clear tube bore. This variant enables flexible connections in the 10–15° angle range and supports grease-free working; a tight seal is achieved with the additional sealing ring. Orientation in 360° is possible. Supplied as a non-self-supporting glass article for further processing from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, it is intended for building grease-free flexible joints and for integration into glass apparatus and instruments.
