DURAN® ground socket NS 14/23 is a conical ground-glass joint component intended for incorporation into laboratory glass apparatus. Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3, the socket corresponds to DIN 12249 Form E and features a finer ground surface with reduced roughness depth. This improved grind quality lowers the amount of joint grease required and decreases the risk of joints seizing during use. When paired with joint grease or PTFE sleeves and secured with suitable conical-joint clips, the socket provides a low-leakage, tight closure for standard taper connections. Supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,022 kg, it is ready for further processing or direct assembly into glass devices.
