Description
ETH SER 8 is an Ethernet-serial converter that allows up to eight laboratory instruments equipped with serial interfaces to be controlled or read out over an Ethernet network. Each port supports RS 232, RS 422 and RS 485 signalling. Configuration is performed either with the supplied PC software or through the integrated web application, giving flexible setup options for different laboratory IT environments. An external power supply is included. The package also contains a power cable, an Ethernet cable, a wall-mounting kit and a software CD. With a net weight of 1,650 kg, the converter (IKA) is designed for permanent installation in instrument rooms or control cabinets where multiple serial devices must be integrated into a modern Ethernet infrastructure. It simplifies remote monitoring, data logging and centralised control of legacy serial laboratory equipment without requiring individual PC serial ports for every instrument.
