Description

Round-bottom flask, narrow neck, 250 ml, DURAN® is a classic laboratory vessel for heating, distillation, reflux and general preparative work. Made from borosilicate glass 3.3 under the DURAN® trademark, it combines high thermal shock resistance with excellent chemical durability. The flask has a single narrow neck finished with a beaded rim; neck outer diameter is 34 mm, body outer diameter 85 mm and overall height 144 mm, giving a nominal volume of 250 ml (0,25 l). The spherical bottom promotes uniform heat transfer when used with heating mantles, oil baths or sand baths. Pack size is 10 pieces, each weighing approximately 0,112 kg. These flasks from manufacturer Witeg are well suited to organic synthesis, solvent recovery, concentration steps and as receiving vessels in distillation trains. The Enghals (narrow-neck) design reduces evaporative losses while remaining compatible with common stoppers and adapters. Ideal for routine chemistry, teaching laboratories and pilot-scale preparative work where reliable DURAN® glassware is required.

Questions about Flasks, round bottom, narrow neck, 250 m

What is this article?

Flasks, round bottom, narrow neck, 250 m is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Witeg for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
