Description
Hardness control device SG 298 S, 3/4'' is an automatic residual hardness monitor designed for continuous supervision of soft-water quality in demineralised and purified-water installations. Intended for direct installation in the soft-water line, the unit uses a resin expansion-and-shrinkage sensor and requires no chemicals or process water during operation. It provides optical indication of “Operation” and “Hard water” status and includes the measuring cell, connecting hoses and exchange sensor. Two potential-free changeover contacts support remote fault signalling or interlocking of downstream consumers such as reverse-osmosis systems, while an additional potential-free contact can drive acoustic or optical alarms. The device (Evoqua Water Technologies) is supplied with a 1,30 m connection cable and Euro plug. Technical performance covers a maximum flow of 3600 l/h at 0,2 bar differential pressure, electrical supply 230 V / 50/60 Hz, power consumption 1,2 VA and a PVC housing rated IP 54. Maximum pressure loss is 0,2 bar; contact loading reaches 230 V / 4 A (changeover switch up to 250 V / 5 A). Net weight is 3 kg.
