Description

The housing heating mantle PILZ® -Classic-Line- LG2 is intended for 250 ml round-bottom flasks with a diameter of 85 mm. It runs on 230 VAC at a rated power of 150 W and allows a maximum operating temperature of 450 °C. A hand-crocheted glass-silk heating element ensures close contact and effective heat transfer to the flask. The powder-coated metal housing is robust and highly resistant to chemicals, while the two-part design with a liquid-tight upper section helps protect the interior. Permanent warning markings include clear volume identification. Controls are executed as safety switches: a main on/off switch and a heating-zone switch with integrated “Heating” status lamp for zone 1 or zones 1+2. This mantle from manufacturer Winkler provides two heating zones, a detachable plug connection (cable length 0,50 m), and a personal-protection plug with residual-current function plus a Schuko type E/F mains cable (1,00 m). Net weight is 2,05 kg; overall width is 160 mm and height 185 mm, supporting reliable laboratory heating of round flasks in everyday use.

This article is part of Heating mantles, in Heating, drying & cooling.

Questions about Heating mantle metal-cased PILZ® -Classic-Line- LG2 250ml 230V 150W Tmax

What is this article?

Heating mantle metal-cased PILZ® -Classic-Line- LG2 250ml 230V 150W Tmax is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Winkler for laboratory use. It sits in Heating mantles, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

A heating mantle cups a round-bottom flask so the heat meets the glass without a bare flame. The flask volume the mantle was knitted for is the specification. A 1 L mantle under a 250 mL flask heats the air, not the liquid.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
