Description

Incubation hood TH 15 is a temperature-controlled hood designed to maintain constant temperatures for laboratory shaking and incubation work, including tall vessels such as 1000 ml Erlenmeyer flasks. It can be used on compact shakers or operated as a stand-alone unit. The coated metal housing features three windows and a front door that opens upward for convenient access. Temperature range extends from 5 °C above ambient to +50 °C with a temperature constancy of ± 1 % of the set value, controlled via a PT 100 sensor and air circulation of 240 m³/h. Internal dimensions are 490 × 410 × 310 mm (W × D × H), providing sufficient height for large flasks; external dimensions are 510 × 450 × 455 mm. Electrical connection is 230 V, 50/60 Hz (115 V on request). Net weight is 21 kg. From manufacturer Bühler, the unit includes a standard controller and safety shut-off of the shaker when combined with compact shakers, supporting stable incubation workflows in research and routine laboratories.

Questions about Incubator Hood TH 15

What is this article?

Incubator Hood TH 15 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bühler for laboratory use. It sits in Incubators, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

An incubator holds the mild, even temperature a culture needs, often 25 °C or 37 °C, sometimes with carbon dioxide. It is not a drying oven. Uniformity and, for cells, the gas control are the specification. A flask of cells in a drying oven is a dead flask.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
