Description

Kjeldahl digestion unit KJD10 is a graphite digestion system that uses advanced high-temperature infrared heating on a controlled platform with anti-oxidative treatment for corrosion resistance and extended service life. The temperature measuring range runs from ambient temperature +5 °C to 450 °C, with rapid heat-up to 400 °C in 25 minutes and an accuracy of ±1 °C. Temperature rise can be programmed linearly or in steps, supported by 20 digestion programmes that deliver a controlled heating curve. Twenty heating positions accommodate 300 ml digestion tubes, while a 5,7-inch colour display simplifies operation. The standard configuration includes a gas extraction hood and is intended for use with the separate KJDL-A01-001 extraction system to condense and neutralise corrosive residual gases generated during digestion. From manufacturer Labbox, the unit is recommended together with Kjeldahl tubes DTU3-042-*** (ten tubes included) and catalyst tablets KJDL-CAT-250. High-temperature alarm and overheating protection are integrated. Rated power is 3600 W at 220 V ±10 % / 50 Hz, with a 2-year warranty. Supplied as 1 piece with a net weight of 57,000 kg.

This article belongs on Soxhlet & extraction apparatus, in Distillation & extraction glassware.

Questions about Kjeldahl digestion system, KJD10, EU plug

What is this article?

Kjeldahl digestion system, KJD10, EU plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Soxhlet & extraction apparatus, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid with clean hot solvent over and over: the chamber fills, siphons, and fills again. The extractor, the flask and the condenser are sized together. The thimble holds the solid. Extractor size is given as the siphon volume.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
