Description

MISA ICP-OES Standard 5- Transition metals ROTI®Star is a multi-element calibration solution intended for inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. It comprises 13 transition-metal elements at defined concentration in a 10 % HNO3 matrix, supporting accurate quantification of this important element group in atomic spectroscopy. Supplied in a 100 ml HDPE bottle, the solution has a density of approximately 1 g/cm³ and a boiling point of 83 °C. Analytical laboratories employ this standard for instrument calibration, multi-element method validation and ongoing quality control in environmental, industrial and research ICP-OES applications. The ROTI®Star preparation from manufacturer Carl ROTH is designed for reproducible performance in routine spectroscopic sequences. Classification under UN number 2031 corresponds to the nitric acid matrix and calls for conventional corrosive-solution handling in the laboratory. This ready-to-use transition-metal standard integrates smoothly into existing ICP-OES calibration schemes and helps maintain consistent multi-element response across analytical batches.

Questions about MISA ICP-OES Standard 5-, Transition metals ROTI®Star, 100 ml, HDPE

What is this article?

MISA ICP-OES Standard 5-, Transition metals ROTI®Star, 100 ml, HDPE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Carl Roth for laboratory use. It sits in Photometers & spectrophotometers, inside Spectroscopy & photometry, in Lab instruments.

A photometer reads absorbance at one or a few wavelengths. A spectrophotometer scans or selects many. Both send light through a cuvette or a well. The wavelength range, UV or visible, and the bandwidth decide what can be measured. A visible-only instrument cannot read a nucleic acid at 260 nm.

A photometer or spectrophotometer sends light through a sample and reads how much was absorbed. In the range where the Beer–Lambert relation holds, absorbance tracks concentration. A refractometer reads how a liquid bends light, which tracks dissolved solids. A polarimeter reads the rotation of polarised light, the classical measurement for sugars. The lamp, the wavelength and the cuvette path length are the three things that have to be right before the number means anything. The optical quantities trace to NIST and the BIPM.
