Description

Nalgene™ 890 tubing is semi-rigid laboratory tubing built for demanding applications that require resistance to most common chemicals at room temperature plus high temperature endurance. This variant has a 4,8 mm inner diameter, 6,4 mm outer diameter and 0,8 mm wall thickness (3/16 in ID × 1/4 in OD × 1/32 in wall), with a total length of 50 ft (15,24 m) on the roll. It is rated Durometer 58 (D), uses a bend radius of 8×OD and withstands up to 140 psig at 23 °C and 70 psig at 85 °C. Maximum operating temperature is 205 °C. Autoclavable and conforming to FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food contact, it suits controlled fluid transfer in the laboratory. These Nalgene™ 890 lines from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics support process and research connections that need chemical durability with semi-rigid handling. Supplied as one roll per unit for straightforward stocking, cutting and installation in analytical and industrial laboratory environments.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ 890 Tubing

What is this article?

Nalgene™ 890 Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
