A transparent acrylic hinged lid allows continuous visual monitoring of the animals during anaesthesia, while all other components are made of polypropylene and are compatible with common anaesthetic preparations. The anaesthetic is introduced through a small funnel and flows into a cotton-lined base beneath a perforated, removable floor insert. A lateral valve permits fresh-air supply to help prevent asphyxiation during use.
