Description

Desiccator plate made of porcelain, DN 100 is a perforated sieve plate that divides a desiccator base into two functional zones. The lower compartment holds the drying agent while samples or vessels rest on the upper surface of the plate for controlled moisture removal. With an outer diameter of 90 mm, the plate fits standard DN 100 desiccators and provides stable support for dishes, crucibles or other containers. Manufactured from heat-resistant porcelain by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the insert tolerates introduction of warm or hot samples without thermal shock damage under normal laboratory conditions. The open-pore design allows free vapour exchange between the desiccant and the drying chamber, promoting efficient equilibration. Suitable for drying solids, protecting hygroscopic materials and general sample conditioning, this porcelain plate is a durable consumable accessory for analytical, preparative and storage desiccators. Supplied as a single piece, it replaces worn inserts and maintains the intended separation of desiccant and sample space.

Questions about Porcelain Desiccator Plate

What is this article?

Porcelain Desiccator Plate is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Dishes (other), inside Dishes, crucibles & porcelain, in Labware.

These are the dishes that are not a crucible, a watch glass, an evaporating dish or a tray: odd open vessels defined by a use. Diameter, material and whether the dish is glazed are still what decide the heat and the chemical.

A dish is an open vessel for drying, evaporating or holding a solid. Porcelain and glazed ceramic take a higher temperature than borosilicate glass, which is why a crucible, not a beaker, goes into a furnace. A watch glass covers, or holds a small amount for drying. A mortar is for grinding. The temperature and the chemical, not the shape alone, choose the material. Laboratory ware of this family is listed under ISO laboratory ware.
