Description
Precision balance AX4201 is an Adventurer™ Precision laboratory balance offering a maximum capacity of 4,2 kg with readability of 0,1 g (0,0001 kg). It provides a typical minimum weight (USP, 0,1%) of 200 g on a full-resolution single-range platform of 175 × 195 mm. Supported applications cover weighing in 17 units plus one free unit, parts counting, percent weighing, checkweighing, dynamic weighing, accumulation and statistics, formulation, density determination and display-hold function. A full-colour 109 mm VGA touchscreen with adjustable brightness ensures straightforward operation. Connectivity includes RS232, USB host and USB device ports together with GLP/GMP-compliant data output and real-time clock; data can be stored directly on a USB stick. Built by manufacturer Ohaus with a metal housing, ABS upper housing and stainless-steel weighing pan, the instrument incorporates a three-door glass draft shield featuring two top-mounted side doors and an upper sliding door, illuminated levelling bubble, integrated underhook, security loop and complete protective cover. Additional equipment comprises selectable environmental filters, automatic taring, individually selectable span adjustment, software lock and reset menu, customisable interface settings and print options, user-specific project and user IDs, and nine operating languages for versatile laboratory use.

Questions about Precision Balance AX4201
What is this article?
Precision Balance AX4201 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Ohaus for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
