Description

PULVERISETTE 23 mini mill 100-240 V/1~, 50-60 Hz is a compact laboratory mill for fine comminution of small dry samples or solids in suspension and for mixing or homogenising emulsions. Feed quantity reaches up to 5 ml with a maximum feed size of 6 mm (material-dependent) and a final fineness down to 5 µm. The grinding bowl oscillates at 900–3.000 oscillations per minute with 9 mm amplitude; frequency is adjustable between 15–50 Hz. Both dry and wet grinding are possible. The instrument is well suited for sample preparation ahead of chemical analysis, chromatography, mass spectrometry or X-ray structure analysis, as well as for gene research, active-ingredient homogenisation, forensic extracts, pigments and cryogenic grinding of frozen soft materials. A generously dimensioned DC motor drives a crank mechanism that converts rotation into vertical oscillation; the spherical grinding-bowl interior maximises impact and friction efficiency. Quick-clamping bowl fixation, glass keypad, robust crankshaft drive and two-year warranty complete the design. The mill is supplied without grinding bowl or balls; these are available separately in five materials to minimise contamination. This mini mill from manufacturer Fritsch delivers reproducible results for the smallest sample volumes while keeping contact surfaces minimal.

Questions about PULVERISETTE 23 Mini-Mill 100-240 V/1~, 50-60Hz

What is this article?

PULVERISETTE 23 Mini-Mill 100-240 V/1~, 50-60Hz is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Fritsch for laboratory use. It sits in Mills, grinders & homogenisers, inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.

A mill, grinder or homogeniser reduces particle size or breaks a tissue before an extraction. The rotor and the sieve insert decide the result. A knife mill and a bead mill are different machines. The sample has to tolerate the heat the motor puts into it.

A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
