Description

PULVERISETTE 5 classic line is a planetary mill for rapid batch fine grinding down to colloidal fineness of hard to soft materials, dry or in suspension, and for mixing and thorough homogenising of emulsions and pastes. Maximum sample quantity is 450 ml with a maximum feed size of 10 mm depending on the material. The main disk speed is adjustable from 50 to 400 rpm. Grinding proceeds mainly by high-energy impact of the grinding balls and partly by friction between balls and bowl wall.

This article is part of Mills, grinders & homogenisers, in Test sieves & mills.

Features include loss-free grinding of suspensions via sealing rings in the bowls, reproducible results through quartz-accurate timing, simultaneous grinding in up to four small or two large bowls, reverse operation, programmable grinding and pause times plus cycles, second-accurate short-time settings, RS232 interface for process parameter transfer, and special gassing lids for inert-gas grinding and mechanical alloying. The mill is supplied as standard with two bowl holders and safe-lock clamping, without grinding bowls and balls, which are available in eight materials as accessories. Voltage is set to the ordered 200 V–240 V range. Net weight is 100 kg. This unit from manufacturer Fritsch suits geology, chemistry, mineralogy, ceramics, building materials, metallurgy and related laboratory applications.

Questions about PULVERISETTE 5 classic line Planetary Mill with 2 bowl holders 200V-240V

What is this article?

PULVERISETTE 5 classic line Planetary Mill with 2 bowl holders 200V-240V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Fritsch for laboratory use. It sits in Mills, grinders & homogenisers, inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.

A mill, grinder or homogeniser reduces particle size or breaks a tissue before an extraction. The rotor and the sieve insert decide the result. A knife mill and a bead mill are different machines. The sample has to tolerate the heat the motor puts into it.

A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
