Description
R 1401 propeller with 55 mm rotor diameter is a specialised stirring accessory for high-speed laboratory mixing. It produces an axial flow pattern and is well suited to low to medium viscosity media processed at high speed with minimal temperature rise. The working range covers volumes from 1 to 30 litres, supporting a broad span of laboratory and pilot-scale preparations. Designed for the EUROSTAR 20 high speed digital and EUROSTAR 20 high speed control overhead stirrers from manufacturer IKA, the R 1401 delivers consistent axial circulation when elevated rotational speeds are required. For operation the propeller must be mounted on the precision stirring shaft R 6000; that shaft is not supplied with the R 1401 and has to be ordered separately. With a net weight of only 0,036 kg the unit remains compact and easy to handle on the bench. It integrates cleanly into existing high-speed stirring setups where controlled axial flow and limited heat input are essential process requirements.
This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about R 1401, Propeller, Ø55 mm
What is this article?
R 1401, Propeller, Ø55 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
