Description

SKB N24-L N 24 PP screw cap (bonded) is a white polypropylene laboratory closure with a 15 mm centre hole and a removable protective lid. The septum is a natural silicone / colourless PTFE laminate with a hardness of 45° shore A and a septum thickness of 3,2 mm, giving a clean sample-contact surface and a compliant sealing layer under standard screw-cap torque. Intended for N 24 threaded vials, the bonded design keeps the septum correctly seated during repeated handling, storage and transport in analytical workflows. The detachable protective lid shields the septum face until the moment of use, reducing contamination risk on the bench. Offered in a pack of 100 pieces from manufacturer Macherey-Nagel, this closure suits routine chromatography, sample preparation and general laboratory sealing tasks where a wide-opening N 24 format is specified. White PP construction aids quick visual identification among mixed vial racks, while the silicone/PTFE combination balances chemical resistance on the PTFE side with the elasticity needed for a reliable seal.

This article is part of Screw caps & closures, in Stoppers, caps & closures.

Questions about SCB N24-H/protcap,w,Sil nat/PTFE,45°,3.2

What is this article?

SCB N24-H/protcap,w,Sil nat/PTFE,45°,3.2 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
