Description
Swing-out rotor S-4-104 E.T. is a medium-capacity swing-out rotor without buckets, designed for Centrifuge 5810 and 5810 R. It delivers a maximum of 3214 × g at 3900 rpm and works with a broad adapter programme covering tubes and bottles from 0,2 mL to 750 mL as well as plates. Aerodynamically designed round buckets enable energy savings of up to 36 % compared with rotor A-4-81, and mixed loading of two plate buckets with two round buckets increases flexibility when buckets are fitted. Optional aerosol-tight QuickLock lids are available for safer centrifugation of hazardous samples; aerosol tightness has been verified by Public Health England, Porton Down (UK). Buckets, lids and adapters are autoclavable at 121 °C for 20 min. A software upgrade may be required on older centrifuges. This rotor body from manufacturer Eppendorf is supplied as a single unit with a net weight of 5,220 kg for laboratories that need a flexible S-4-104 platform and wish to select buckets separately.

Questions about Swing-bucket rotor S-4-104
What is this article?
Swing-bucket rotor S-4-104 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Eppendorf for laboratory use. It sits in Rotors, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.
A centrifuge rotor is the rotating part that holds the tubes, and it is rated for a maximum speed and a maximum load. A swing-out rotor and a fixed-angle rotor pellet differently. A rotor from another centrifuge does not belong on this drive, even when it seems to fit.
A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
