Description

Three-necked round-bottom flask DURAN® is a compact multi-neck laboratory vessel for small-scale synthesis, reaction monitoring and teaching applications. The 25 ml capacity is ideal where limited sample volumes or precious reagents must be handled efficiently. It is equipped with a centre neck 14/23 and side necks 14/23; the side necks are angled to improve access for condensers, addition funnels, thermometers or inert-gas lines without crowding the working area. Made from DURAN® borosilicate glass by manufacturer Lenz, the flask offers the thermal and chemical resistance expected of standard laboratory glassware. The round-bottom form supports even heating on small mantles or oil baths and facilitates stirring. Supplied as one piece weighing 0,080 kg, this three-neck flask fits common ground-joint systems and is well suited to micro- and mini-scale organic work, method development and parallel experimentation that benefits from simultaneous multi-port connections in a compact footprint.

What is this article?

Three-necked round-bottom flask, 25 ml, Centre neck 14/23, side neck 14/23 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lenz for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
