Description

BOLA GL reducers GL 45 – GL 14 PTFE/PPS are laboratory fittings for adapting larger GL bottle or vessel threads to smaller GL connections in fluid-handling setups. The design combines a black PPS screw cap with a movable PTFE reducing nozzle sealed by an FKM O-ring, creating a clean transition from a GL 45 thread cap to a GL 14 threaded nozzle. Thanks to the movable nozzle, vessels can be changed without prior dismantling of attached devices, as hoses and cables remain free from twisting. The process medium contacts only PTFE, which supports chemically resistant laboratory use. The reducer is suitable for hose diameters from 0,8 mm to 8,0 mm and is supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,051 kg. Polytetrafluoroethylene forms the wetted reducing element for inert performance. These BOLA GL reducers from manufacturer Bohlender are intended for analytical and preparative laboratories that require reliable GL-thread reduction, inert media contact, and convenient vessel exchange without disturbing connected tubing.

Questions about BOLA GL-Reductions, GL 45 - GL 14 PTFE/PPS

What is this article?

BOLA GL-Reductions, GL 45 - GL 14 PTFE/PPS is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Matériel de laboratoire.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
