Le Bouillon Letheen modifié est un milieu liquide très nutritif recommandé pour les tests microbiologiques des cosmétiques.
L'extrait de bœuf et le peptone de caséine fournissent l'azote, les vitamines, les minéraux et les acides aminés essentiels à la croissance. L'extrait de levure est la source de vitamines, en particulier du groupe B. Le chlorure de sodium fournit les électrolytes essentiels pour le transport et l'équilibre osmotique. Le glucose est un glucide fermentescible fournissant du carbone et de l'énergie.
