Voici le colorant ADN BrightGreen I, un réactif de marquage pour la détection d'acides nucléiques double brin dans les gels d'agarose et de polyacrylamide. Le colorant est ajouté directement au mélange ADN/tampon de chargement, puis chargé sur le gel. BrightGreen I se lie au sillon mineur de l'ADN et s'intercale dans l'ADN. Lors de l'excitation, il émet une fluorescence verte vive. La sensibilité est jusqu'à 0,01 ng par bande, soit 20 fois supérieure à celle du bromure d'éthidium. BrightGreen I a été développé spécifiquement pour une analyse ADN douce. L'intégrité de l'ADN n'est pas affectée ; par conséquent, l'ADN élué du gel peut être directement appliqué à des applications standard en aval, telles que, par exemple, les ligations, la PCR, la transformation, la transfection, etc., sans effets interférents.
