Description
DURAN® desiccator base, MOBILEX type with threaded connection (GL 32) and flat flange, DN 200, is a vacuum-compatible laboratory vessel component intended for the storage of moisture-sensitive substances and the drying of moist products. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3, the lower compartment accommodates a drying agent that is separated by a metal or porcelain perforated plate from the material resting above. Vacuum can be connected through a stopcock fitting; the reduced pressure speeds evaporation and shortens drying times. Every DURAN® desiccator is vacuum-tight and rated for use up to the technically maximum possible vacuum. Proper greasing of the flat ground joint guarantees a reliable seal and facilitates removal of the lid after evacuation. Supplied by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this MOBILEX base matches all lid types and delivers a dense closure via the standard ground joint. Typical uses include removal of moisture from solids, extended storage of humidity-sensitive samples, vacuum drying applications and safe operation under vacuum. Pack size is 1 pc; net weight 3,251 kg.

Questions about DURAN® Desiccator Base, MOBILEX Type, thread outlet (GL 32), with flat flange
What is this article?
DURAN® Desiccator Base, MOBILEX Type, thread outlet (GL 32), with flat flange is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Reaction vessels & jacketed vessels, inside Beakers & flasks, in Matériel de laboratoire.
A reaction vessel is the flask a synthesis actually runs in, sometimes jacketed so a fluid can heat or cool the wall. The joints, the working volume and the jacket connections are the specification. It is not a storage bottle.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
