Description
DURAN® GL 45 replacement screw closure for the stirred reactor system is a polypropylene (PP) blue/grey cap fitted with two GL 14 ports and two GL 14 caps (PBT, red), supplied without stirrer. It forms the closure element of a standalone bottle stirring arrangement intended for simple laboratory mixing when combined with a compatible shaft and impeller. The adjustable stirrer shaft can be positioned optimally in a 500 or 1000 ml DURAN® GL 45 bottle and driven by standard magnetic stirrers up to 500 rpm, giving substantially better mixing performance than magnetic stir bars. The two GL 14 connection caps are compatible with established DURAN® connection systems, allowing semi-rigid tubing of 1,6, 3,0, 3,2 or 6,0 mm outer diameter for addition or removal of liquid or gas during mixing. Constructed from chemically resistant materials including PP, PTFE, PEEK and stainless steel by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, media-contact parts meet food-contact requirements and the assembly is fully autoclavable. It is not intended for overhead laboratory stirrers and supports applications such as low-cost bioreactors, continuous-flow stirred reactors, liquid blending and photobioreactors.
