ROTI®Dex Medium est un milieu de filtration sur gel poreux et sphérique composé de dextrane réticulé avec de l'épichlorhydrine.
En filtration sur gel, également appelée chromatographie d'exclusion stérique, les molécules sont séparées en fonction de leur taille en solution. Les petites molécules traversent la colonne beaucoup plus lentement que les molécules plus grandes. Contrairement à d'autres méthodes de chromatographie, il n'y a ici aucune interaction entre l'analyte et la phase stationnaire de la colonne. Cela constitue la base idéale pour la purification et l'analyse de protéines intactes.
ROTI®Dex permet une forme de séparation de groupe pour éliminer les facteurs indésirables de faible poids moléculaire tels que les impuretés, les sels, les excipients, les marqueurs, les débris cellulaires, etc., des solutions de protéines ou d'acides nucléiques.

Le milieu ROTI®Dex-25 est excellent pour la séparation des protéines >5 kDa et des acides nucléiques >10 pb. Les biomolécules ne sont pas significativement diluées lors de la purification avec le milieu ROTI®Dex-25.
