Description

HPM D2B is a binocular laboratory light microscope equipped with semi-plan, high-resolution objectives 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x, covering magnifications of 40x, 100x, 400x and 1000x. The binocular tube is inclined at 30° and carries a 360° rotatable head, paired with wide-field WFP 10x/20 mm eyepieces featuring foldable eyecups for relaxed dual-eye viewing. Spring-loaded specimen protection on the 40x and 100x objectives helps prevent contact damage during fine focusing.

This article is part of Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, in Microscopy & histology.

A spacious 140 x 155 mm stage with integrated coaxial mechanical stage and ergonomically positioned controls enables smooth, precise specimen scanning. The centerable Abbe condenser (NA 1,25) combines iris diaphragm and filter holder and is height-adjustable for optimized contrast. New-generation 3 W LED illumination with Köhler iris diaphragm delivers continuously variable brightness via potentiometer, intensity comparable to 30 W halogen, and an approximate LED lifetime of 50,000 hours. Offered by manufacturer Windaus with dust cover, power cable and operating instructions included, the HPM D2B supports routine brightfield applications in teaching labs, quality assurance and research. Further accessories are available on request.

Questions about HPM D2B

What is this article?

HPM D2B is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Windaus for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Instruments de laboratoire.

An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
