Description
Nalgene™ graduated cylinders with PMP graduations are polymethylpentene measuring cylinders intended for precise liquid handling in laboratory environments. This size provides a nominal capacity of 50 ml with molded graduations from 3 ml to 50 ml in 1 ml steps, enabling reliable volume assessment during sample preparation and general volumetric work. Accuracy complies with ASTM Class B, E1272, and with ISO 6706, and the tolerance is specified as ±0,5 ml. Fabricated from clear PMP, the round cylinder features a generous pouring spout for controlled transfer and a hexagonal base that supports stable placement on the bench. Calibration covers both to contain and to deliver. The vessels are autoclavable and rated to a maximum temperature of 145 °C, allowing use in procedures that include steam sterilization. Conformity with CFR 21, Part 177.1520 is stated for the material. Supplied as a case of 18 pieces from manufacturer Thermo Scientific, these Nalgene™ cylinders deliver durable embossed scales and Class B performance for measuring and mixing applications across research, teaching and quality-control laboratories.

Questions about Nalgene™ PMP Plastic Graduated Cylinders
What is this article?
Nalgene™ PMP Plastic Graduated Cylinders is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Measuring cylinders, inside Volumetric glassware, in Matériel de laboratoire.
A measuring cylinder is the tall graduated vessel for a volume that does not need volumetric-flask accuracy. Class A and class B differ in tolerance. Reading the bottom of the meniscus, at eye level, is part of using it.
Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
