Description
Thallium Standard Solution is a metallo-organic calibration material containing 5000 mg/kg thallium (Tl) in 20 cSt hydrocarbon oil for quantitative elemental analysis. Offered in the ROTI®Star range, this oil-based standard is intended for calibration and related work in atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) methods that require a hydrocarbon matrix. The product is supplied in a 50 ml pack with a density of 0,862 g/cm³, a flash point of 115 °C and a boiling point above 218 °C. These physical properties describe the hydrocarbon oil formulation used as the carrier for the thallium analyte. The solution comes from manufacturer Carl ROTH as a ROTI®Star metallo-organic standard with a stated mass fraction of 5000 mg/kg Tl. It is grouped with standards for AAS and ICP where a 20 cSt hydrocarbon oil matrix is specified rather than an aqueous medium. Analysts can use the 50 ml unit as a stock for preparing working solutions in compatible hydrocarbon oils, referring to the labelled 5000 mg/kg Tl concentration. The stated density of 0,862 g/cm³ assists gravimetric transfer of the oil.
