Necessity of fermentation tests
The methane gas potential is determined in fermentation tests. Fermentation tests to estimate the methane gas potential are of interest for the assessment of substrates in biogas plants or sewage treatment plants.
The bottles are suitable for batch fermentation tests. For this purpose, they are filled with the substrate to be fermented and tempered over a water bath or in a drying cabinet.
The gas is discharged via the lateral hose connection and is usually counted via a gas flow meter.
