ROTI®Plate90 zijn geprepareerde kweekbodemplaten met een diameter van 90 mm. Ze zijn hiermee aangepast aan de grootte van membraanfilters voor het testen van vloeistoffen met een laag kiemgetal via de membraanfiltratiemethode. Ze zijn ook in het algemeen toepasbaar voor de microbiologische analyse van monsters. De kiemen van de te verwachten vloeistofmonsters met een laag kiemgetal worden geconcentreerd door membraanfiltratie. Daarna wordt het membraan boven op de voedingsbodem geplaatst en geïncubeerd. Het gebruik van een membraan met een raster helpt bij het tellen van de resulterende kolonies. Onze producten zijn uitsluitend getest en goedgekeurd voor onderzoek en ontwikkeling.
Monsters waarvan een hogere microbiologische belasting wordt verwacht, worden voorbereid in een seriële verdunning. Daarna wordt elke verdunningsstap uitgeplaat en geïncubeerd. Het aantal gegroeide kolonies wordt als resultaat genoteerd.
Columbia-agar wordt door de Ph. Eur. en USP aanbevolen voor het subkweken van monsters voor telling en semikwantitatieve detectie van clostridia. Het is een zeer voedzame voedingsbodem voor algemeen gebruik voor de kweek van veeleisende organismen.
Het aanwezige pepton levert stikstof, vitaminen, mineralen en aminozuren die belangrijk zijn voor de groei, terwijl natriumchloride het osmotisch evenwicht handhaaft. Maïszetmeel neutraliseert giftige vetzuren die in de agar aanwezig kunnen zijn.
